Welcome to the Forum.

On your image I can't see all desktop. Is it showing as usual? Is everything working as normal?

Go to C:\Users\Name\Desktop and try to create a folder there.

The desktop is functioning normal as well as everything else. I did run a sfc scan & errors were found but could not be repaired, also chkdsk but it found nothing, as i said this started after i installed some ms up-date`s last week but i did not do a backup first like i should have. I did notice the computer acting a little odd, it did not execute code/programs as fast as usual & hung up allot etc. but AV ( Avast ) showed nothing & it is in hardened mode. This is the first time i have had this problem & i got my first PC in 1995 on top of it all.

Installed what please?
If you ran System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) the logs are temporary at: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\
Copy and paste the bold text into Search programs and files after you click :orb:
CBSpersist.cab should still be there
I can work with that.

Do you have this key value in registry?
{D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719}
  1. Open the Registry Editor by pressing Win key + R and typing ‘regedit‘ into the Run text.
  2. Browse to this key in the Registry Editor window: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\.
  3. If there, click New
  4. Is {D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719} there under Data?
Please advise.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but i did not receive any notification email of your post`s. To answer all your questions is simply "No to Each" including deleting & re-install Avast ( Clean = New Download ).

Have you considered that this may be a permission issue? From my perspective, this kinds of things are usually the problem. This program called Unlocker, I hear may be relevant to resolving this issue. UNLOCKER 1.9.2 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB

This would not help with my problem but thank`s anyway. Yes, it could be a permission issue but how to resolve it i don`t know. The problem is i cannot make a new un-ziped folder on the desktop>> right click>new>folder but i cannot open a regular folder, a ziped folder i can make>> right click>new (compressed) zipped folder> & the folder is created on the desktop.

Yeah that's the thing with troubleshooting. We're going to have to attempt many different possible solutions- from many different angles. I'm new to troubleshooting too. However, from my experience, whenever I had issues modifying any kinds of files, it was usually due to messed up permissions. Maybe try resetting your permissions manually? Here is an old, small guide that may serve to help you in the right direction:
Hope that helps. Keep us updated.
