Solved Cannot get into BIOS after mini tool partition resize

Oh, those "specs", sorry, that's another PC entirely. The problem PC has the K8S-MX M/B and the problem HDD is the 80GB Deskstar.

I just connected the 80gb problem drive to this PC and NOW, it's root drive is no longer detected. This leads me to believe there is a H/W issue with the drive. In the SS you can see the 19GB partition where no drive letter was assigned. That was the win7 root drive and now it's just gone.

I'm running the WD data lifeguard extended test now.

So disk 1 is the problem drive correct ?

And you`re positive the bios works fine when this drive is not connected, correct ?

It`s the bios that hangs up, not windows, correct ?

Your PM is still confusing me.

You have to clarify this 100%

No system files on it, but we can`t see everything on it from that shot, assign it a letter.

There should be system files on the SR Partition, you botched it good :)

In your 1st post you said you put this drive in this other pc and it boots fine, but it`s not booting, you are still booting from the 149 GB drive ( as signified by the C letter )

The only way to work on this drive is to get it back in the other machine and try running startup repair up to 3 times.

On a side note, who installed windows on disk 0 ? That looks terrible, why is C to the right of D ? Why the un allocated space ?

It`s only 149 GB, it should be just 1 single partition with windows :)

Thanks for all your help.

I've abandoned any further attempts to resolve this. Bottom line: The BIOS on the K8S-MX hangs after detecting the problem 80GB deskstar drive (even after a low-level format, which shouldn't matter anyways), the problem drive works fine on 2 other PC's. The K8S-MX BIOS detects any other drive besides the "problem drive" and does NOT hang.

I've installed win7 on the K8S-MX with a DIFFERENT drive and all is well.
