Cannot hide folder even when checked....permissions?

Hello all.

I have a folder on a WD MyBook portable drive (ie in case with plug for power & stuff like that) that for the drive itself, is I guess you could call now a networked one where its USB is plugged into a USB port on my router and being used as a media sever via a DNLA capability the router has.

Basically since I am using the drive this way, one, it now shows up on my network instead of the Explorer menu like the other drives, and two, being that I surf through it with the Roku streaming device I am using it to feed, I can see any folders on it which I would really like to prevent for the ones I don't need as just is more stuff to have to go through.

Now interestingly, the router upon setting up everything for the drive to be used as a DNLA server, created a folder on it that is essentially by default was checked as hidden, and is dimmed out, and that folder does not show up on the Roku unit.

For all others I didn't seem to need, I actually deleted them, so they are gone too.

But there is this one folder which I think might be working to run the drive which came on the drive from the factory an has several drivers in it.

All in all I could care less that it is there for any other point, but would be nice to not see it in the Roku menus.

So basically just like the one the router created, and for the way this normally gets done, I tried going to the folders properties and checking the box to hide it, but while the box is there, and I can check it, when I click the OK, it does not hide, nor if I open its properties again, is the check still there either.

Also have tried it doing it both, for that folder only, or, all subs and neither works

So was just wondering why it is doing this and if there is anyway I can change that?

Was taking a look at the permissions and see they all are listed as special permissions so is there anything in there that might be causing this?

Just to sorta answer this somewhat already, I have tried unplugging the drive and hiding this folder, but it comes back upon being plugged into the router as shown, and un-hideable.

So all in all would guess a big reason here is it is being used, but was just wondering if there was anyway by maybe the permissions, or some other way, there might be to still hide it?

If not any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help.
