I have tried installing IE10 both through windows update and manually. It fails both ways giving me the error which I have attached.

I ran SFC /Scannow and it returns no errors. I have attached all files I hope as needed. If I missed anything please let me know. I seen a similar post but as you say do not follow any other post so I am posting my own info.

Guessing I will be rebuilding a computer. This is my kids computer and I have updates set to auto install on shutdown. I don't have to touch the computer much and we use chrome so I didn't notice the problem until the other day. I am starting to think all of this was caused because it tried to install IE 10 and IE 11 at the same time.

I did find this funny because I read from here and other places to try uninstalling 9 and then starting over. Well in Windows update it only list IE 9 but in Turn Windows Updates ON and OFF it say IE 11. I know when I had IE it was only version 9.

I tried uninstalling IE9 from Winows update but it fails with errors telling me it could not be removed. Funny part is I no longer have IE on my computer at all and cannot reinstall IE9, IE10, or IE11.

I hate IE anyways but it is needed sometimes and I'm not sure if it is messing with any other updates. I am getting other event errors so like I said at the start. Might start rebuilding it this upcoming weekend unless anyone thinks they can help!

Thanks!

You apparently have IE11 installed - or at least Windows thinks you do.
This is almost certainly why the IE10 update is failing.

Windows Update will not attempt to install both IE10 and IE11 at the same time - unless forced to do so manually. Even if both appear in the WU options list at the same time (they shouldn't) the installation of one should automatically disable the installation of the other at least until after the next reboot (or permanently).

The 0643/9c59 error you're getting is often a sign of significant corruption - sometimes caused by malware, or registry cleaners.

I suspect that your thoughts about a reinstall may be the right option. You should try a repair install first, though - it saves the hassle of reinstalling the applications.

Have you tried going to Windows update, then update history, find update I.E. 11 and delete it. Make sure you have update for I.E.10, do not delete it. Find I.E. 9 and delete it. Note** If you don't see I.E. 10, download it to your desktop
before you delete 9 or 11. Reboot, use Windows search and find I.E. files of any kind on C: drive, and delete these also.
Then try I.E. 10 installation.

Just a note:
I just did a Repair Install and found out I could down load I.E. 10 or 11 but couldn't install them until I activated the system again.

Is it possible that Microsoft is not seeing the system activated?
