Cannot Load Up OS - Black Screen with Cursor

Firstly, this isn't my laptop. It's a low-quality laptop that was bought 3 years ago, so not in the best of shapes.

Apparently this has occured before, but when I try a normal startup it spends ages with the W7 logo and then progresses to a black screen with a white cursor. I can only assume that when it happened before after a couple of restarts it progressed, but I was asked to reinstall W7 and then after restarting after the updates this error occured. Then as an attempt to solve it I inserted a fresh HDD and installed windows, again, after updates the error occured. Now it won't even let me install windows again. It loads the files and then the W7 logo appears and to the black screen again. I then stuck the HDD's in as an external HDD to another laptop and it failed to read them, as though they'd been corrupt.

The computer is a Msi Cr610.

I'd appreciate any help. Also, I've attempted safe modes and last known good configuration. The end result is the same.

Hi Danny, Welcome to Sevenforums.

Try clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for few minutes). At restart, it would wait for F1.
