An attempt to upgrade Win7H&P-64 to Windows 10 resulted in Win 7 being restored. Restored a system image, ran sfc /scannow & chkdsk /f to end up with:
Thanks.
The Peer Name Resolution Protocol cloud did not start because the creation of the default identity failed with error code: 0x80070005.
I have tried all the fixes mentioned at Can't start Peer Name Resolution Protocol. Nothing has worked:
deleting C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\...\idstore.sst
Leave HomeGroup => couldn't be done
deleting entries in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
resetting password of Local Service
grant Local Service full control of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
I could again restore the system image but strongly suspect this will only delay the inevitable need to solve this issue. Please advise.Leave HomeGroup => couldn't be done
deleting entries in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
resetting password of Local Service
grant Local Service full control of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
Thanks.
