Canon iP4000

Don't know if this is relevant to the Forum, my above machine switches on but won't do any-thing else now !
Have tried new USB lead and re-installing driver but...nothing ??

Thanks for quick reply. Have just removed previous driver and d/loaded up to date from Canon.
Not a sausage ! tried the trouble shooter, made default printer, sent messages to clean etc. nothing...the light is on but it's not awake for me.

If it still persists then have a think about updating the driver for the chipset and the BIOS seems to be a fairly recent one - unless you have done them already of course I cannot see any for the USB ports and that is what I was looking for.

Geronimo ! I'm up and going again. Seems like a mixture of fault in path to remote PC which serves the Canon, driver update, and (would you believe) an exhausted cartridge. Went back to basics eventually and carried my lap-top upstairs to the Canon after loading driver. This machine must be 10 years old now, always run on Generics and I feared the worst. Well done Canon !!

So did the update work the fix?? Personally I have just gone over to an HP printer after years of inkaholic Canons - my last being a wireless MG 5450 I think it was after it drank ink for breakfast lunch and tea before it even thought about printing and the noise!! and at least three minutes before it was ready for printing

So am a proud owner of an HP Officejet Pro 8600 and mate the difference is astounding

I know what you say about the Canon, but it's in another room !
Canon generic inks are very cheap and not bad quality.
I looked at HP, the inks are pricey here mate.
