So I have been trying to get my computer running for a few days now. At first it wasn't booting at all, it would be a black screen with a blinking cursor. I have cleared cmos a few times, turned psu off, drained charge from psu, turned psu back on and got it working that way for about 10 minutes, then it crashed. Ever since then I can't get it to get running again. I think it says something about "fatal error" and then goes on telling me to boot into safe mode to remove any new hardware. Is it a hardware problem I'm having? If so, I'm screwed, too broke :(
The best I can get is the screen where it says run windows normally or run in safe mode. But it will just crash on either option I pick. And when I try to run from the dvd drive with my windows 7 disc it's just a black screen with a blinking cursor.
I'm not sure what to do...ugh I feel like it's something really simple to fix. I left my computer sitting for a few months and havn't tried to boot it until recently, so I don't remember if I put any updates on it or not.

I tried running system launch repair and it crashed in the middle of that, now it's just going back to booting to a black screen. Do I just keep clearing cmos, my mobo has dual bios, so the backup bios isn't corrupt. I'm using a gigabye mobo.

And most of the time it won't even boot at all, it will just be a black screen.

the only thing I can say is check to make sure all your hardware is plugged into the mobo properly, reset mobo by taking out the battery for at least 10 min without psu plugged in. If that doesn't work try doing a full windows re install.

That's the thing, I would do a full windows install, except I can't get it to boot from the dvd drive.

Alright I'm booting from the dvd. heres what I did to do that

"Unplug PSU, spam power button to remove remaining power, next you have to keep the power button held in until it powers up and down when ya plug in the psu.
This doesn't clear cmos, it loads the backup bios from your second bios chip.

Do that procedure, then make sure it loads and post's, manual shutdown, unplug PSU, spam power button again, wait 30 seconds, next take something conductive (be it a flathead, wire, w/e) and short the 2 pins for 15 seconds, boot pc normally, unshort. reboot."

It was booting up windows but crashed. So what do you think the problem is?

ok nvm It was loading my windows 7 disk but heres the error message.

"A problem has been detected and windows is shutting down to prevent damage to your computer. etc.

then at the bottom it says

***STOP : 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80000D2BA2DE, 0x0000000000000000,0x00000000000000008)

Ok well apparently it's working right now, but I don't know how stable it is. There is no restore point for it, so I don't know if it's a driver issue or my OS or possibly a hardware problem. Any ideas on what to do?

First, it would be helpful if you filled out your complete system specs. It helps to know what hardware we are dealing with. At the bottom left of your last post click my system specs, then click update system specs. In the meantime download coretemp and keep a watch on your CPU temps. I can't tell you what the normal range is without knowing your hardware. Also download cpuz and post screenshots of the memory, spd, motherboard and cpu tabs.
