Cant change desktop background

Can someone help me please. I cant change my background. I do it through both personalize and control panel. Nothing happens the background stays the same. Help please!!!

Ok im going to the desktop, right click and go to personalize. Then I just click on a windows theme and nothing happens except that the taskbar changes color. The background stays exactly the same as before.

I'm with ryo. do SFC /SCANNOW in an elevated command prompt (right click and run as admin).

Wait a second, when you open 'personalize' from the right click menu on the desktop, and it opens the personalization options, try clicking on 'desktop background' at the bottom. Then try to select a different one and click 'ok'.

Wait a second, when you open 'personalize' from the right click menu on the desktop, and it opens the personalization options, try clicking on 'desktop background' at the bottom. Then try to select a different one and click 'ok'.

Tried that too and nothing happens. The background stays the same.

Right click on the picture, and click on 'use image on desktop' or something similar, what it will say depends on the browser, but something similar to use on desktop. Then see if that will change it.

Wow, I don't know anything more to say, other than using a system repair disk, and repairing it. Do you have a system recovery/repair disk? If you do, pop it in, boot up from it, and it will automatically detect and fix any windows problems.

What kind of windows 7 do you have? and is it 32 or 64 bit?
