everytime i install updates, i turn on the computer and it gets to 35 percent then says failure to configure windows then it does a reversion and restarts to where it used to be

Let's go at this a much easier way.

First before I spin any wheels.

This is imperative.

Run malwarebtes. I don't care what you have done before or what marvelous av programs you have used or are using.

Run Malware Bytes. Let me know the results.

Why am I so insistent? Years of experience helping people with unusual problems. It is absolutely essential that certain possible problems are eliminated.

1. Download MalwareBytes. Malwarebytes
2. Disconnect from the Internet.
3. Disable your present antivirus software and firewall.
4. Remove your present antivirus software and firewall.
5. Install and run the MalwareBytes Quick Scan (remove any bad guys). 3min 29secs on my laptop.
6. Reconnect to Internet.
7. Update MalwareBytes.
8. Run malwarebytes quick scan again.(remove any bad guys). 3min 38secs on my laptop.
9. Run MalwareBytes full scan. 16min 8secs on my laptop. With large, full disk ~2hours.

Now you can reenable your present av/firewall software.

Very important. What is your present AV software? Is your present AV software up-to-date?

Still none of suggestions help?

Try also below:

1.Empty C:\Windows\Servicing\SQM folder,to do that follow below:

-.Go to C:\Windows\Servicing\SQM and add your account to have full control for this folder
-.Remove all files from this folder
-.Remove your account from permissions to SQM folder

//useful link how to do that:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/15...rmissions.html

2.Verify security settings Rizone Security Restore 0.2.2.228 | Rizone Technologies
3.Uninstall all 3p security software (antivirus,firewall,antispyware)
3.Download all hotfixes which you have problem from Microsoft Download Center http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/resultsForCategory.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=7 (not from Windows Update) and try install them on clean boot How to Troubleshoot a Problem by Performing a Clean Startup in Windows 7 or Vista
