Can't Disable Dell Pre-Windows Login

I am still trying to get this laptop straightened out and have a new issue. I can't seem to disable the Dell Pre-Windows Login. I have gone through the steps I found online. The settings show it as disabled, yet when I restart it still has me log in again. Even then when I go straight to the settings it gives me the option to enable and shows it as disabled. Is there another way to stop this feature?

Open DDP|A.
Select Start > All Programs > Dell > Dell Data Protection > Access > Acces
Access Options - Pre-Windows Login
Disable Pre-Windows Login

Some business Dells have an additional switch on security prompt for a password, Is this what you are seeing ?

this occurs before the system enters the BIOS or even thinks about windows - there should be an option to switch this off in the bios once you enter the password which appears to be "broken" in your case

As the password is generated internally, and is unique to each system the only way to reset it is to contact Dell directly with the service tag and Proof of ownership and they can provide you with a password to allow resetting, or even have an engineer reset on site for you - dependent on your service agreement
