Solved Can't format/delete partition an HDD

My G: and J: drives (a 500GB WD HDD) has developed bad blocks, I wanted to delete the partition and format. But to my surprise Windows is saying, "Windows cannot format system partition on this disk" (J). I have windows installed on C: (win 7 x64 sp1), not J:. I want to replace the damaged HDD soon, and if I replace it I'm afraid Windows won't boot up. Opinions on what I should do and what the problem is?

You can`t format J, it`s marked Active and contains your system files. (hence the message from windows)

Disk 0 and Disk 2 should be disconnected (just unplug the power cable)

Then, startup repair must be run on Disk 1 until it boots on its own.

Disk 1 should be connected to Sata port 1 on the motherboard.

After C boots on its own, then you can format Disk 0 using Partition Wizard or Diskpart, Partition Wizard would be easier.

Just curious. Why did you black out the names of your drives? You are the first person on here that I have seen to do that, other than when the CIA and NSA asked a question.

I don't know... the names of my father, bro are there. Seemed a little odd to publish names here, invasion privacy whatnot.

It worked @AddRAM, your way! Removed the hdd to test on my friends pc for a couple of days, seems to be okay for now.
