Can anyone help me?
I recently purchased a laptop from a company that i used to work for which went into administration. I can log on with my details as normal, but I am unable to install software or complete any upgrades as it keeps asking for Administration password. I have tried calling the IT people that took care of the laptops for this but they are not responding back regarding the password. When I use to have upgrades done the IT people would do this remotely. I have contacted Toshiba, who have said I will need to order a recovery disk, but this will wipe out all data. Does someone know of less drastic action?

Running Windows Pro 64bit

Any help will be appreciated

*Due to the nature of this question and the post count on your account.*

If it was truly sold or donated to you from your last company, you must have them fix this issue. Having us provide you with any information to bypass the local security set on the laptop would be unethical and possibly illegal.

Search the tutorials section here and you'll find ways to reset the password etc. However, please remember that any legal and ethical responsibility in this matter is entirely yours.

thank you for your replies. I was not aware the information I was asking for could be regarded as illegal. I will order a recovery disk from Toshiba.
