Can't pin into taskbar ( build 6956 )

Hey guys I got a problem here. I can't pin enything into the taskbar and there's no option to pin either. I worked for a few days, week maybe and then suddenly nothing was pinned when i started my computer. I allredy tried to reset the star menu pin and all that thing and I also enter: C:\Users\Uros\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned
where I found all the programs pined into taskbar but they weren't on the taskbar ( strange ) I deleted all restart the windows and there was a shourtcut of mozilla firefox but without icon. It was only a white document. I clicked on it and it pops up an windows that the file is missing and if i want to be removed i presed yes and nothing happened. then i oper task manager i closed the exlorer.exe i runed it again and there was the same icon there but when i pointed on it it said Windows media player I removed it on the same way lake the mozilla's one and I did the same for the rest. Now I still cannot pin anything into the taskbar. Is there any solution to fix that, I don't want to install it again because I wait for the public beta and then I will instal that one. I used vista for the primary OS but now it crased today and I dont want to mess with it so I'll use win7 istead but I want to fix this problem

The cause of the problem is because you have made the shortcut in Windows 7 to be "not a shortcut" by removing the shortcut arrow on icons (including desktop icons) by removing IsShortcut registry key. You might not remember doing so because it could have been removed by some software you installed.

Thus, to fix the issue that application programs unable to pin to Taskbar, just re-add the IsShortcut registry key back to .lnk shortcut to reset and restore back original state.

Here's how,

1. Run Registry Editor "RegEdit". You can find it by searching programs and files.

2. Before you do any thing, backup by exporting a registration file.

3. Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile

If you find the correct key, you'll see the following names,
(Default)
EditFlags
FriendlyTypeName
NeverShowExt

4. Add a new string value to the registry key,
Value name: IsShortcut
Value data: .lnk

5. Exit from Registry Editor.

6. Logout and login again or restart Explorer for the change to take effect.

It does work! Just don't make the mistake of thinking the lower case "L" is an upper case "I" as I did at first. It is .lnk and and lnkfile , all lower case. Who cares if it is a year old or 10 years old, if it is occurring now, help someone out and post!

Old thread I know, however I am having this same problem, but when I look for Inkfile all mine shows is Inffile - is this the one? If I click it I see Default and FriendlyTypeName but that is it
