Surprisingly it's not listed under the device manager. In the sounds, video and game controller section of the manager, none of the items listed is able to be rolled back (it's greyed out) but I did disable each to see if it would allow me to control the volume again from the keyboard but none worked. Also, none of the keyboard drivers can be rolled back either.

At this point I would study my System Restore points to decide if it is worth rolling back to before the driver changes which futzed the keyboard sound. It will tell you what programs will be affected.

Then reinstall those drivers separately with the suspect one last - making sure there are individual restore points.

Did these driver updates that caused the change come in on Windows Updates? Because those can be rolled back separately in the Remove Updates panel in WUD.

Thanks. I forgot to mention that I received the updates from the Sony website (I have a VAIO), not windows updates. I'll mess around some more but I think you're right Greg and might have to do the restore.

I did a restore and surprisingly the problem isn't fixed. Reinstalled the video driver so sleep is working again. I'm just glad I got that fixed. Thanks for the help.

Krazer, I suggest that you start a new thread. You won't get much help if you post in someone else's thread.

It just gets everyone mixed up.

No battery is detected

For a few month after I change from XP to Windows 7 ultimate, my battery had decreased dramatically. Just at one time one message appears and it says "No battery is detected". What does it mean? How can I make my battery detected?
The thing is that I still can use my battery for more than 30 minutes right now but it just still say "No battery is detected". What should I do?

I'm using DELL 6400.

Set a Restore Point named "Sleep" so you can roll back to a Sleepy state at any time it loses Sleep again.

If you can afford it, apportion more disk space to SysRestore points at Computer>Properties>Advanced>SysProtection>Configure so they last longer for months. I use 20%+
