Hi
I'm new here , I find these forums very helpful , I want to thanks all people that working on them.
I was XP user till lately , It disapoint me to upgrade to 7 but we have too.. anyway MS seem to be relying on goofers to build their systems -_-

I followed this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/92758-windows-explorer-auto-arrange-disable.html Thanks to shawn for it.

I have added the moded reg , closed explorer process and it worked , ran the restore reg closed explorer again and got the forced auto arrange back. Was testing. So I have added the modded reg and disabled auto arrange.

Now I wanted to restore the forced auto arrange but system seems to be rebuilding the shell reg on a disabled auto arrange. I deleted them manualy , restrored backup reg still same thing.
Anyone know a fix ? other than rebuilding the whole reg again. just out of curious.

And the reason why I wanted to restore the forced or default setting , becuase when I move my file/folder to another location in the same folder and opening it right away it will open the pervious file/folder that was on it's place.I have to pick , click another location or refresh to open the correct arranged file.
Is this normal with everyone ? thought I could fix by reapplying the stepps o_O.

PS: it's ok if can't fix , but it's good to know xD
Much thanks all.

Hello Blackhorse, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Normally, folder views should be reset to enable auto arrange again. However, if you like, you could try merging the REG file attached below and restart the computer to see if it may be able to enable auto arrange without having to reset folder views.

If it messes the folder views up, or causes some unknown issue, then you could just merge the Reset_All_Folders_To_Default_Folder_Views.reg file from OPTION TWO in the tutorial linked in your post to reset folder views and fix it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

That's what I was afraid of.

Merging the Reset reg file and restarting the computer should reset the folder views back to default and enabe auto arrange again.

Ok I figure it out ^_^ after I have added the modded reg file , I clicked "Apply to folders" under the folders option to change my folders view at once , I clicked Reset to default , added the Reset reg file , closed explorer process , ran explorer again and everything went back to normal :)

Thanks and sorry for the troubles ^_^" Keep up the good work .
Good luck.
