CD/DVD device Acer Aspire 6920

Hi there,

I have Acer Aspire 6920G and dual boot installation of Windows 7 RC build 7100 & original Windows Vista Ultimate.

The problem is with my CD/DVD dvice - it simply does not read any CD DVD disks.
The driver in device manager is in OK satus - MATSU*HITA BD-CMB UJ-120 ATA Device.

so any ideas ?... workaround would be fine as well

2 solutions. Replace the drive or open it yourself and gently clean the lens with a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip.

A firmware update, if one is available, could help but I doubt that.

Do Blu-Ray disks work alright?

a new driver and firmware are not available (at least I couldn't find) but the clean is a good idea

Yeah. I fixed a number of drives like that so chances are good you could too.

My Acer ASPIRE 6920 is runing CDs but it don't wants to read DVDs
What should i do here
