CD/DVD Driver missing on install

Found a solution to my issue on this

I've been having this same problem and tried everything that was suggested to no avail:

* Download RAID drivers to a bootable disc or place them on a location where I could browse to
* Change socket for USB bootable stick during setup
* Use a different Windows 7 installation
* Boot from CD instead of USB
* Set DVD drives as first boot option in BIOS
* Try installation on a different HDD

The solution for me was really annoyingly simple:

I downloaded a version of Windows 7 in x32 x64 and x86. (solely because I thought my 3 previous tried x32 versions might be corrupted) After the install button, I was only given the option to instaal the x64 or x86 version. Probably the x32 was not able to install on my system. I chose the x64 version and had no trouble installing after that.

My issue was USB-controller-related

I ran the Windows 7 Pro x64 setup from a stick in an USB 3.0 port. In my case the setup apparently ran into a problem while loading "some extended" USB drivers because there is no out-of-the-box support for USB 3.0 . Changing to one of the USB 2.0 ports helped.
