change movie language

Not sure if this is the right section, but I figured I would post any way. I respect and trust you guys' knowledge, so here goes:
I download a movie (AVI), and realized that it is german. I prefer the movie be in english (bet you know what my next ? is). Can I change the movie to english? I opened it in virtualdubmod and clicked on the streams tab, but it does not display anything. Any ideas guys? Hell, I would even settle for a way to use some kind of software to translate the movie and display the translation in english subtitles.

The VirtualDUB is used to edit any dub files that *already* exist - if your AVI had a dub file you'd be (or should be) presented with a set of options to change the language in the beginning.

Since you are not (and this is confirmed with the fact that VD found no streams) there is no way for you to change it - yet.

If you can find someone who has posted the English dub for that particular .AVI, then you can manually add it in with VD....

other than that, you're Surely Out of Luck....
