checked build of Windows 7 on MSDN

Hello all,

Anyone know what the "Checked Build of windows 7" is that has appeared on MSDN a couple of days ago?

Completely different build to current RTM.

maybe I missed something here????

Refer to this page for an explanation. The short of is that the 'checked' versions contain debug code and boatloads of bloat not needed by most users. Unless you're debugging or developing on or for Win7, you don't need it.

Admittedly, the name 'checked build' suggests some additional level of quality assurance or more rigorous testing process prior to release. While technically accurate, it includes all the tools needed for testing that are not needed by the average user.

Thanks for that, did kind of think it might be something along those lines but thought i would just get it from someone who knows.
