Hello again. And sorry for the trouble too. Well, after for a one month or so now, my OS or whatever is acting weird again. :(

So, I just started my computer today and found out that one of my game (Diablo II) kept crashing with some 'Access Violation' so the first thing I did was to restart my computer and then I was prompted to do a 'chkdsk' and I didn't pay much attention to it and let it continue. So, after everything is complete, my game is up and I was surfing the web and gaming...
And, now, when I want to open a .MP3 file (double-click), Windows prompted me that my WMP is not installed properly and must be reinstalled? But I always used it to play my songs? Also I have noticed that, where I saved my songs, there is these two new files seems to be created after the first chkdsk called; 'CurrentDatabase_372.wmdb & LocalMLS_3.wmdb'.

I also tried to reinstall my own WMP but I can't seems to DL WMP 12 off Microsoft site and it said that not available to DL because all Windows 7 has it?
I tried disabling the Windows Features > Media > Windows Media Player and re-enabling it on but still says that there is an error.

So, I tried doing a manual chkdsk with evaluated cmd and reboot my computer to do it. No files were 'recovered' so, after I log-in, nothing change and I am doing 'sfc /scannow' but all I am getting is; 'Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix them'.
I have uploaded my CBS.log if anyone will be so kind to help me on this one, please?
Code:
[URL]http://hotfile.com/dl/76810937/69aa912/CBS.log.html
Ultimately,[/URL] the worst thing is that I just deleted all the restore points last night and I didn't do any backup so, what can I do next? Sorry and thanks for all the troubles!!!

Before you try a repair install you may want to try the independent WMP installer, (not all windows 7 versions actually come with WMP, (some markets do not allow Microsoft to include the media functions in the standard install)), the download is available here ...

Download details: Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N and Windows 7 KN (KB968211)

You could also try disabling the Media player in the add and remove windows features option, re-booting and then re-enabling, this is best done as a first option.

Depending on the amount of damage to the system you have it may be necessary to perform the repair install or even a complete re-install but try theses options first

First off, thanks for all the replies and I would like to check whether if I were to do a repair install, will all my programs, songs and all still be in their original place? I would do that but surely wouldn't be it be better to complete start reinstalling Windows 7 again if all my stuffs are gone? Sorry for the newbie question because I don't have any extra HDD for me to do any backup so just trying to be sure.
I have tried disabling and enable the Media option in Windows Features. I can only disable but when I enable it back up again, it will prompt me with error.

Sorry for not quoting and long text wall, I am currently typing using iPhone. Sorry and thanks.

The repair install should leave all your data files intact, the level of program function will depend on what actual repair install route you take - an upgrade install will leave all programs capable of running, (but may also leave the initial errors that are causing the issues in place so may not be suitable). The new install over the existing install will place all your data files and program settings in the windows.old folder, but the actual programs will require to be re-installed

Hi, thanks for the reply. So, it'll leave all my files (where they are located previously) and all intact even if I do that, right? So, it is like 'replacing over' the new OS with this old OS?

Sorry about being so paranoid, just a last check. :geek:
