Clean Install of Windows 7 64 Bit Freezes on "Starting Windows"...
-Just to be clear, I'm still trying to install the OS, not that it was installed and now hangs-
-Also since it came up, I'm trying to avoid a 'legacy'/mbr boot if at all possible, I've seen it work on another machine so it is possible apparently...-
-From looking into it, seems the firmware needs to have 'Int10' (related to graphics) for windows 7 to use UEFI correctly, and if it isn't supported its up to you to figure out how to get it there-
I wrote in most of the details below but in short - a fresh installation ~attempt~ of Win7 64 freezes/hangs on "Starting Windows" (when the 'dots move around' - and becomes totally frozen) indefinitely.
-Basic Info-
Laptop : Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W-B5112
Toshiba provides Win7 64 drivers on website : yes (so it would seem to be possible)
SSD State: completely wiped and re-initialized as GPT while plugged into a different working system
BIOS Notes: secure boot is off, boot mode is UEFI (not a lot of options in the bios, you either get UEFI or CSM)
Bootable iso was made in Rufus
I've re-tried a few times, becomes stuck at effectively the same time every time. Seems to work with a windows 10 bootable iso just fine for whatever reason.
Any ideas as to how to fix this are appreciated.
UPDATE:
Tried a ssd with a working full win7 64 uefi/gpt into the laptop, hangs on 'starting', took the blank drive into the other system, installer works fine...I guess its the mobo?
