Clone HDD to preserve W7 OS

Is it possible to clone my current W7 desktop hard drive to keep in case my hard drive fails? I do not want to switch to W10 if my hard drive fails. I would like to simply R&R the HDD and be right back where I was. Attached is system info.

Yes.

There free tools that can clone (copy) a partition, or a disk or just the partitions need for the operating system.

It is possible to clone (copy) directly to another disk, or into an image file which can later be applied to a disk using the same software.

If you provide a screenshot of disk management window it would help.

To attach a screenshot, click Go advanced



Then use the paperclip at the top and you can browse to the picture and click upload. Then close the browse window.



Then use the paperclip to insert it in your post

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately I am not in possession of this computer at the moment. It’s at a friend’s house more than 40 miles away. I did however find what I believe will fix the situation. I am going to clone the exact same make & model HDD then swap old for new. According to all that I have been able to find online and from 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] party vendors this should work. Again thanks for replying. Have a beautiful day.

You're making it more complicated than it is.
To clone or generate a drive image it's very easy an you can do it for free as long as you have a backup drive
