Combining my iMac Bookmarks with Firefox

I transferred my bookmarks from the iMac to my newly built Windows 7 Firefox but the only way to access them is to hover the cursor over New Folder in my toolbar which then shows Other Bookmarks which I then click on.

When I want to save a new page on this computer, I click on the star in the address bar and proceed from there which puts it into a separate storage area.

Ideally, I could transfer all of the old bookmarks to this machines bookmarks so that they could all be combined and I could then begin to add new bookmarks to my old folders.

Click on bookmarks and then show all bookmarks. Click on Import and backup. Then select either backup or export bookmarks to HTML. On Windows 7 select Import from HTML (if you exported to HTML) or restore and choose file if you used the backup button. Note that importing your bookmarks will replace your current bookmarks. If you want your existing bookmarks and the bookmarks from the mac you will need to export the bookmarks to an HTML file and open up that file in Firefox on your 7 desktop. After than you can then open up the links and add the bookmarks manually.

I appreciate the time you spent in responding to my inquiry.

I exported my Mac bookmarks to HTML only to find in my documents folder that I had already done that earlier this year. I can access them by opening up documents, clicking on the bookmarks folder and then opening them from a window on my desktop but it is easier to hover the cursor over New Folder in my toolbar which then shows Other Bookmarks and then click on the bookmark of my choice.

Sorry, but I tried doing what you instructed in the first half of your response but had no luck combining the Mac and Windows bookmarks.

As far as I am aware the only way you can combine them is to open up a link from the HTML export and create a new bookmark one link at a time. Firefox's import replaces the current bookmarks.

Seeing as i have just done something similar, well exactly thje same, download icloud for windows, theres an option there to save your safari bookmarks. Start FF and the safari bookmarks will be there. Did find this purely by chance as i would of done import/export thing.
