I am running the RC build 7100 dual booted with XP.
When I first installed the RC it recognized my Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 as an HID Compliant Device. Mouse Properties showed a tab for 'Wheel' and allowed me to set the number of lines for scrolling. Unfortunately, it would not let me assign an action to the wheel button or the magnify button. But it did scroll smoothly no matter what application I was running. Especially important to me was that it allowed scrolling row by row down an Excel spreadsheet.
In an attempt to get the wheel and magnify buttons to work, I installed the Vista Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 driver. Now the wheel and magnify buttons can be assigned functions BUT scrolling with the wheel in Excel scrolls 13 lines at a time. The same is true for several other places. Mouse Properties does not offer 'Wheel' tab but does offer a 'Scrolling' tab. That tab just gives me a chance to adjust the scrolling rate but not the number of lines.
Is there a driver that will allow me to adjust the number of scroll lines as well as assign functions to the wheel and magnify buttons? Maybe another type of mouse is in order but I really don't want to spend the money right now.
Thank you very much.
