Command prompt doesnt recognize commands / cant repair windows

Have you tried copying the values in the path string in the registry, deleting the path string in the registry, and then recreating the path string and pasting what you copied?

You would type path=echo %path% into the command prompt. That should allow you to do what you want to do. If that works, try the registry method I just mentioned in my most recent post.

ya ive pasted @path in registry the one u made and sent if thats what ur askin

edit : yes after i type path=echo %path% ipconfig works . i should recreate a string wid path=echo %path% or i should add that in the value?

No, I mean copying what is currently in the string by selecting within the text box after double clicking the String Value and selecting all the information and copying it. Then delete the STRING VALUE (the entry in the registry that says Path with the ab next to it). Then, right click at the bottom of the list and select New -> String Value to create a String Value. Name that String Value as Path. Paste the information you just copied into that String Value's text box after double clicking the box, or before hitting OK.

Have you closed all windows and restarted your cmd.exe program? Paths do not show up immediately. The program using them must be closed and restarted first.

Alright, I found a solution (because I put myself in the same situation as you by messing up my registry deleting and adding the Path String Value, so I now think your problem was registry related). Go to Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Change my environment variables. Click New...
Variable Name: Path
Variable Value: %SYSTEMROOT%\System32
Click OK.
Restart your command prompt. Type ipconfig. Fixed?

nope still same error btw my path is only %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 atm

Alright, go back through the registry by clicking Computer at the very top. There should be at least three places where Path exists. You can find them by searching (CTRL+F) for NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS. Delete all Path String Values. Then add them through the Environment Variables using the path that I posted in my earlier post (added below for convenience).

Did you start from the top at Computer?

ya all windows were closed only my computer and then i searched for NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS and it opened the environment folder

What happens if you type

path=echo %path%​

in the command prompt? Do commands work again?

well my command prompt wasnt running when i did those changes so it means i restarted ? and when i type that commands work ıncludin exit
