I can't understand how can he steal your password if he can only view your desktop.
I mean, all the password fields you normally type in are not showing your password on the screen, but only black dots, right ?

To be honest, I think your guessing might be manifesting itself as paranoia.

If you have remote connection turned off, and a secure router, then I think you have very little to worry about.

Sorry for the late reply. It may be paranoia but it's very unlikely because he hinted/described certain situations perfectly. There has to be other ways other than the official Microsoft Remote Desktop application, right? And I don't think my router is too secure if it has all ports open by default. There isn't even a control panel for it since its through USB.

May I just add just because RDP is turned off does not mean anything currently studying security and if someone is REALLY trying to get in the can bypass all this. Doesn't make a difference about RDP. But they would have to go to a lot of effort to do this and in my opinion if they really want something of this person to go to all this bother. It can be done

I really don't see any issues. If you are still doubtful, change all your router and login passwords.

I see nothing wrong either. Change your setting as Golden and others have suggested. If you have proof someone else is logged in to your PC, post it.

I suppose someone in the same building could have connected to your router physically.

I already changed my login password and nobody else can connect to my router. There is also no control panel for it such as port forwarding but before, I was able to create servers and have others join with no port forwarding required (which makes me think this service isn't so secure). Hi yk7.

Like I said nobody is going to go to all this hassle to get into your pc. As suggested above, new password, new SSID, enable MAC Filtering, Make sure your using WPA/WPA2 and if you really want to disable SSID broadcast, most smart phones and still pick up the SSID though. But If someone was to do this, it would be very hard to do so I don't think there is any issue here. Make sure your password is strong and more than 8 characters here is an example. (S37enF0rum$) Please mix them all.

Sorry but, SSID and MAC filtering? And what does WPA/WPA2 have to do with anything if I'm not connected to the internet over wifi?

SSID is the broadcast sent out from the wireless (basically the name of the network)

MAC Filtering - Basically only allows or denys certain network cards (Layer 2)

MAC filtering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you don't use wireless disable it in the router.

Just enable MAC Filtering. You will be fine
