Computer Booting Problems... Loading Windows Freezes...

Sometimes when I boot the Computer, it stays on the Bios screen for longer than usual, then freezes at the "Loading Windows" screen before it shows the animated Windows logo. Pressing any button on the Computer case forces it to reboot, it then loads Windows normally.

Today, when I booted the Computer on, it did not boot up, but seemed to get "stuck", then beeped loudly continously and then the fans in the Computer spun up at high speeds. After pressing a button on the case, the Computer then rebooted up, I was greeted by an error screen showing "Windows was not shut down properly". I started it in Normal Boot Mode and it booted into Windows properly.

I would like to know if there is a way to find out what is causing this and to prevent it? I would like to stop this behavior before it becomes worse.

Hello rosecat and welcome to Seven Forums

It sounds like your computer's problem is a BIOS setting issue. Could be an overclocking parameter or turbo boost feature that is being applied and then reset.

What would be really helpful, is if you could fill in your System Specs a little. Just so people who are prepared to help you know what they are dealing with.

On boot the bios !like for the hard drive it suggests it's hanging as it can't find it so either there is a problem with the HD or cables if the drive is old it could be slow spinning up which would make it boot ok on reset as it's already spinning. Check the. HD for errors and check cables are in tight and check HD is set as first boot device

To help us to help you we need your hardware specs.
One long beep and fans in the Computer spinning up at high speeds can be a clogged heat sink.
