Solved Computer doesn't have a valid IP address

hi i tried to set my ip adresses and dns manually and then that didn't work ... so i put all the pc's in the house on auto obtain ... turned the router off and the on again ... i then reconnected each pc ... problem seems to be solved now been running for 3 days without issues.

Was any pc in the house NOT having "auto obtain ip address"?

I am happy that your problem has been solved! :) It is possible for your laptop to have a static IP address at work which would not be correct at home so automatically configuring it may have solved the issue. Either way as long as the problems solved then I am happy :)

They where but i fiddeld with them and then put them all back on auto obtain and reset the router and all the remembered connections and reconnected them one by one
