Computer Randomly Freezes

So for the past month or so my computer has been periodically freezing, sometimes half an hour after start up and other times it can be fine for a full day of use. The freezing leaves my computer in a fully unresponsive state (pressing caps locks on my keyboard does not light up the LED) and the only option I have is to restart it by holding down the power button.

I've tried several things after browsing several forums, the things I've tried include:
- Testing for bad RAM, test come back fine and as a further measure I have taken one stick out and tried using just one but I crash, same for the other stick
- Updating all drivers
- Checking for malware (using malware bytes) and a general virus scan (Trend micro Titanium)
- Scanning and fixing registry errors (using freeware programs) (this seemed to do the job as I was able to run perfectly fine for several hours, but then my PC froze
- Monitoring heat/CPU usage (the highest any component gets to is 45C at the time of freezing)

I'm not sure if there is any relation but it generally only happens while running Google Chrome, Hearthstone or Dayz. Yet I can play Guild Wars 2 (known to be very CPU intensive) for 6+ hours and have no freezing occur (same for most steam games)

Any and all help is very much appreciated, as freezing occurring with University assignments quickly approaching is not going to be fun.

What programs did you use for your registry scans?

Are you sure your memory specs in My System Spec. is correct.
Do you mean 1333

Make sure you're only running one antivirus; start with that.

Whoops thanks for catching that, it's 1600. I went through and updated system specs using the automatic option on System Info.

What programs did you use for your registry scans?

I went through the Registry section of CCleaner, do you have another recommended program?

Make sure you're only running one antivirus; start with that.

Ahh, sorry for the confusion, I run Trend Micro primarily. temporarily disabled it and then downloaded and ran Malwarebytes, after that came up with no results I removed it and switched Trend Micro back on

No, that is the one I use.
Remember that it should be use with caution. Take a close look what it want to do and use it's backup options.

Whether you are having BSOD or not sometimes this will help find the problem.

The only thing I can see that is a maybe is WUDF Host.
If it was my computer I would run Eset Online Scanner (Free)

Just had another Idea.
After the scan unplug all unnecessary things.
Try you system with just the mouse, keyboard hooded up.

I usually only run with keyboard, mouse headset and my 2 displays connected. After removing headset and one display my PC still froze. Thanks anyway

This is going to be a process of elimination. Because the problem varies for a few minutes to several hours make it difficult to point to something.

Because your keyboard looses it's lights could you use different usb ports.
If that doesn't help try a different mouse and keyboard.
Does you system have problems doing things other than gaming?

Have you use the Samsung SSD Tool box? Also is the Firmware up to date?

It would be helpful to put the brand of your power supply in your System Specs.

Because your keyboard looses it's lights

Sorry for the confusion, the keyboard doesn't lose its lights, but pressing caps lock does not turn on the caps lock light. All backlit LED's are still on

As I said it also happens while just using the internet (google chrome) and once just on the desktop

I already have samsung magician and that runs when my computer is on and keeps all SSD firmware up to date

My system never experiences any other problems apart from this freezing, no slow downs, hangs or programs becoming unresponsive

That suggest that the problem could be in Hearthsone or Dayz programs (games).
I don't use Chrome but could you look and see if Chrome has a hardware accelerator of some kind and turn it off.

Have you tried those games with a another browser?

What happened once on you computer is no concern.
If something only happened once on your computer you wouldn't be asking for assistance.

You stated your drives are updated, that is good.
You stated you don't have a heat problem, that is good.
Now could you check manually that your Firmware is up to date and what the update was designed to do?
I don't recommend auto update because you don't know what the update does or when it is going to do the update.
Anything that is Auto Update or Scheduled can cause gaming problems.
I don't use Auto Update or Scheduled of anything just for those reasons.

Have you run Eset On Line Scanner as requeated? Please report results.

Have you been keeping Restore Points?
I need exact answer to exact questions.
If I can't help you I will look for others that might have a idea.
