Solved Computer randomly freezing

Hello all,

I've recently had an issue where my PC intermittently freezes. It'll normally start off with one program that stops responding and eventually all the other open ones will do the same. Windows Explorer also tends to stop responding. Some open programs are unaffected and I'm able to interact with them to a limited degree (a few actions and closing them) but I am unable to open any new programs. I reinstalled Windows a couple of months ago in an attempt to fix this same problem but it seems to have resurfaced.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Running the scan now.

Looked through the event viewer as well. Would any of the logs there be of any use?

Have you tried to open up Task Manager and then select the performance tab and then click the button Resource Monitor and see if anything is eating up most of the CPU ? svhost can go out of control at times and use up 65% of the CPU, but I found with all the latest updates on Win7 it behaves itself now... It might be svhost or it could be something else, either way when it happens its worth taking a look in there to see whats going on in real time :-)

Took the RAM out and found there was dust in one of the slots. Cleared that away and so far no freezes. Appreciate the input guys.
