Hi!

I just formated my computer because it was slow and also because it had windows 7 installed on it which was too much for the specs that my computer had. So I installed windows xp. Its all good on start up and shutting down, its fast and smooth. Also when i open up things in windows like my computer, control panel etc. it runs very fast and smooth but when i open up google chrome, or any other program like softonic installer, skype installer etc it just makes my computer slow instantly. It takes like 4 minutes to open that installer up and I sometimes even have to end process to get the computer going again. As I close the program down it runs smooth again. But why is it doing that, i need some advice please. I got all the drivers installed I need for my dell vostro 500. Could it be hard drive? I jsut don't get it how can it be smooth with windows own programs and as I open something else up it just lags out like crazy.

Also the internet connection seems to be waving from 0 KB/sec to 400 KB/sec with the same internet cable I use for my other computer and it has internet connection steady at 600 KB/sec download.

The CPU usage also seems to be at 100% almost all the time even doing the most simple tasks. It doesn't even move down from there when I have nothing open in my system expect task manager to track it.

yes all, just not wifi one because i can't seem to find the right one so i'm using lan cable with it. I have a feeling the longer it's on the slower it gets, with my internet cable it didn't even open google chrome up

i've had task manager open for about 15 minutes now and the cpu usage hasn't gone down from 100% for even a moment.
In safe mode its 0-7% so i hope it's not hardware problem *fingers crossed*
but what should I do? Reinstall drivers? I actually have no idea how to fully uninstall them though.

it looks like svchost.exe uses up 98% of my cpu, but why?

EDIT: Solved it using a .bat file and my computer is running fast and smooth everywhere now :)
