Try another monitor. Try using an HDMI cable to monitor or TV.

When you unplug your PC to take it outside to blow out the dust, bring it back in to the TV and try the HDMI cable to TV as suggested to compare.

Be sure to limit the fan spinning while cleaning as if it spins faster than designed due to the compressed air it may ruin it.

Guard against static shock to components. Don't work on carpet, discharge any body charge by touching case metal before reaching inside.

And how about the intake fan, oh and he should have suggested to the owner to add a rear case exhaust fan to control cooling. Most case air take points will get loaded with dust and that wasn't addressed.....ok I feel better now ! lol

I noticed he forgot to hold the fans while he was spraying lol. All I have to say is that I am proud that I am taking a risk on my 9 year old tower .

Would you suggest I get the dust spray or just use a hair dryer?

As funny as this sounds, both. Use the spray on the stubborn dust and all fans and cooler fins. The rest can be easily handled with a light brush and the hair dryer.

When I first Take apart my computer, I know there is going to be a lot of dust , so would you suggest , I use the hair dryer from a very far view, then use the spray?

You can approach this any way you want, I find that the filters, fans and fins hold the most dust. Clean them first then clean up the flat surfaces and rest of the case, if you do it the other way around then the fans,fins and filter dust will coat the case.

I am thinking of using the compressed air first , then using the hair dryer because if I use the hair dryer first the fans are going to start spinning which will cause problems.


Now what is this compressed air called so I can purchase the correct one?

When the air is released it makes the can very cold....frozen, when this happens you must let the can rest and come back to a warmer state. Having two or more cans speeds the cleaning process and when empty just dispose in a proper fashion.

Well I just cleaned the inside of my computer, after that was done , I went to power on , and the same god dam problem happened. All I can think of at this point is it's my monitor.

I will post some pictures before I started the Job. I just don't understand what the problem can be. I am beyond confused at this point, do you think it's the tower that's wrecked?

Did you clean out all the open slots as I mentioned? I would remove the ram sticks and blast those slots and lightly wipe the copper ram pins with a very damp cloth and let them dry completely before re-inserting. The issue still could be elsewhere but worth a try. Did you blow out the PSU as well?

It was amazing , It was pretty awesome to learn some knowledge of inside a computer. I cleaned everything you can possibly think about .
