Hi can anyone help me here please? I have a desktop (homebuild) and a laptop, I use several ext hd's for storage, I have two 'boxes', one 51/2inch format for a WD 1T hd and the other is a 31/2 inch for the several 'laptop format' I use.
My prob is that when I connect either of my boxes with a drive inside to either of the 'putes' ( that may be an english abbrev for computer but it's also French slang for a lady of low morals);) I get ' installation of driver complete' then when I click
'computer' on the start panel neither of my ext hd's shows up. can't open can't access. I'm sure it's pilot error, but which? Can someone advise please ?

Hello nongeek,

Are these ext boxes for Sata or IDE HD's ? Do they show up in Disk Management ?

Start :ar: Computer Management :ar: Disk Management
Maximize to full screen
Take a Snip of it with the Snipping Tool, Save snip, then upload the snip here in your post.
