My laptop decided not to start up today. It shut down last night normally, today it keeps getting stuck on "starting window". I tried safe mode, but it gets stuck at starting windows. I tried starting from disk, it says loading files then it goes start to the starting windows and gets stuck. I tried pressing f8 but there is no repair computer option. What is going on. Did my ssd die?

okay, if you have a windows 7 installation disk (assuming your on windows 7) boot from it and take the recovery option! then use Command prompt to perform a checkdisk (usually fixes startup problems for me)

Code:
chkdsk /f

Boot the Win7 DVD Repair console or burn and boot a Win7 Repair CD: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html

Click through to Recovery Tools list to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots, which it may need to repair or rewrite the MBR if necessary. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105541-startup-repair-run-3-separate-times.html

Check Disk, System File Checker and most all other tests are automated in Startup Repair.

Run it regardless of whether it finds an OS to repair and offers you a Repair when you boot in.

try fixing the MBR :) mostly it will work....
if yu hav installed any softwares, themes, games anythn could have made MBR get corrupted.... so ther may this prob...
