Has anyone managed to configure the multifunction keys on a HP Keyboard in Windiws 7?
The keyboard option in Control panel does not seem to allow this ?

Has anyone figured out how to modify the programmable buttons' default behavior in Windows 7 yet? I too am using the above drivers, and the multimedia buttons work great, but I'd like to change what the internet / help keys do from the defaults HP has set up.

Never mind. I figured this out, mostly by accident, and decided to post here for anyone else with the problem. The drivers linked by IMAPC work perfectly with my HP Pavilion Elite m9047c's wireless multimedia keyboard, and now that I know where to look, also provide the ability to customize what each button does.

I've been looking for the Buttons tab for the keyboard while having the Control Panel view set for Category (Win 7 default organization). As far as I know, to get to your keyboard when viewing things this way, you open Control Panel, then select "View devices and printers" under the Hardware and Sound category. But, even though I have two keyboards (I use the HP in my media center, but a Logitech combo setup at my main monitor), neither is identified with HP or its drivers, nor does either have a tab to configure the buttons.

However, I was trying to locate a specific item under Control Panel yesterday, and changed the view from Category to Large icons. This layout is much closer to what WinXP used. Also, there is a Keyboard item in this list, and once opened, there is also a Buttons tab, showing what the current HP configuration is, and allowing for the button functions to be modified.

I've verified that I see this tab or not based solely on whether I'm viewing Control Panel in Category view or not.

I had to register to thank you guys for this solution. HP was not helpful with downloads for drivers for my Pavilion m7557c (it's too old I guess). I called a live HP tech and he said there were no drivers for my computer but for $39 he could connect to my computer and make sure the "settings" were right. No thanks. A related HotFix from Microsoft also failed to solve this problem. After about three hours wasted, I finally stumbled on this solution.

Thanks I M A PC. You've made my day.
