Hi there! My compaq laptop has mysteriously change settings or something (read: one of my children probably screwed with something). I have a wireless router and modem (iPad, phones, etc. are all connecting just fine). It tells me I am currently connected to my wireless network connection, but then underneath it says "identifying" and no internet access. Also (I don't know if this is related really, or just another thing my kids have switched up on me)...my start button and taskbar are now the oldschoolish style.

Be warned, too, that I am no computer genius, and this is also a new-to-me laptop. So while I'll post any reports or anything needed, I'll have to have instructions on how to do most of them or find the info y'all need. Be gentle, okay?:o

(Last thing...I have class tonight from 6-750, so if I don't answer, I will, I promise!)

The easiest fix is if you have a recent Restore Point.
