Okay. Now this is just weird. I thought that maybe it could be my router or modem. So I unplugged both of them to reset them. Now apparently when I try to connect through my router it says they've connected[Laptop(one with problems) and desktop(this one)]but neither can go online.

When it was just my desktop and I only had my modem, ive had the same problem, the IP address and default Gateway on the local area connections would be different from what they should normally be. So it would say that its connected but you cant go online. But either it would work the next day. Or I just try to call my Cable/Internet provider and they would reset it.

Now it's doing the same when it's connected to the router too. Right now I'm just on the modem. And can't connect my laptop wirelessly or through the Ethernet cable.
So now I have 2 theories.
1. My router is messing up.
(but I've had problems with it before and it usually works the next day.)
2. It's just a coincidence that my router is messing up right now like it did before. And the problem with IE is still mysterious.

Whats ninite?
And I was thinking of getting an external hard drive, backing all my stuff up on it. and just completely reset my Laptop to factory settings.

Have you tried resetting the TCP/IP stack or resetting Winsock yet, this usually works to fix this sort of problem.

At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:

netsh int ip reset C:\netsh.log.txt

Do the same for this command.
netsh winsock reset

Reboot machine and check for connectivity. :)
