Hello,

i have a pretty new PC (6 months old) and i am having constant BSOD crushes (about 2-3 per day). During the first month, Windows explorer started to stop working, and a few weeks later, BSOD started to appear. My PC provider has checked my hardware and everything was OK.

I re-installed Windows, but after a while, I was having the same problems (BSOD).

I run Windows 7 Home Premium (6.1) (32-bit), Intel Core i3 530. My Pc description is included in zip file (MYPCDESCRIPTION.txt), as well as minidump files.

Thanx!

Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials.
Then uninstall the MpKsl.... devices in Device Manager (7 of them that I can see)
Then reinstall Microsoft Security Essentials
Check Device Manager to make sure that the MpKsl.... devices are still uninstalled.

Visit the computer/motherboard manufacturer's website and update the motherboard/chipset drivers.
Check Device Manager to see if the Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver is functioning.
If not, uninstall it and then reboot and check again.

More to follow after the dumps finish...

This is probably a hardware problem.

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Scanners (read the details at the link)

OLDER DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Please update these drivers from the device manufacturer's website.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Windows Update exceptions may be noted below for Windows drivers:

Usasma,

thanks a lot for your quick reply.
Some points:

  • I have uninstalled Security Essentials, but i don't know which are the ' MpKsl.... devices in Device Manager'.
  • Memtest86 worked fine for 2 hours.
  • I could not scan my PC with Onecare, there were 2 new minidumps (atttached). When my Pc turns idle, it is very common to have a BSOD.
  • Turbo Boost does not work (code 10- cannot be started). What can i do?

Unfortunately, I cannot find out how to install my new drivers, can you help me? (for example where can i find MPfilter.sys and amxdata.sys drivers?). When i get to manufacturer's sites, it's really difficult to find the correct
type of driver (for example motherboard Foxconn H55MXV series).

Anyway, i tried a program called 'SlimDrivers' to update my drivers, but i don't Know if the work is done.

Thanx!

I'm late for work right now, but will post back after work.
Drivers are difficult to find. Download the motherboard/chipset drivers from the Foxconn website (Win7 32 bit version only)

For Device Manager, go to Start and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
That'll open the Device Manager window. If you spot the MpKsl.... devices, uninstall them - if not, just have a look around for anything that stands out to you.

OK, get the chipset drivers from here: Foxconn Support - Download
Scroll down until you see "Motherboards : Socket 1156 : Motherboards Drivers : System & Chipset Drivers" (it's the 4th one down)

But, I'd like to find a more recent chipset driver for you, so try this:
- download and install CPU-Z (free from here: CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting )
- click on the mainboard tab and read what it says for chipsets there (north and southbridge)
Foxconn says it's the Intel® H55 chipset - but I'd like to be sure so we can download it from the Intel website.

To find out if the SlimDrivers program worked, go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and check the dates on the files from above.

Since you've uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials, it's not likely that the MPFilter.sys driver will need to be updated (unless it's also being used by OneCare or Windows Defender).

The amxdata.sys driver is in the chipset drivers that I described above.

Uninstall the Intel Turbo Boost program for now. If needed we can find another copy at the Intel download site.

Please let me know what you found (if anything) in Device Manager.

I installed Motherboard Drivers from the Foxconn page.
Also, I installed On-board Lan and Vga drivers from the same page, but Audio Drivers Installation could not be completed.

I uninstalled Turbo boost, but I could not find any Mpksl devices in Device manager.

Slimdrivers says that all my drivers are updated.

The uploaded info doesn't say much. Please zip up the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump directory and upload it with your next post.

Your debugger doesn't have the proper symbols setup. Please follow the directions on this page to get it working properly: WinDbg Analysis Report Step E will set the symbols
Please also type the command "lmtn;lmtsmn" (without the quotes) in the box at the bottom of the debugger (after the !analyze -v has finished running) - this will generate the information about the drivers. This is from Step G in the procedure.

Please see if you can install the Turbo Memory driver from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Turbo+Memory&ProdId=2813&LineId=1090&FamilyId=40

And then install the INF Update Utility from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...s+Chipset&ProdId=3240&LineId=1705&FamilyId=40

Don't worry about the MpKsl... devices - if everything is working properly, those devices should go away on their own.

Try this for the Audio Device: Realtek and select this download: "Vista, Windows7 Driver(32bits) Driver only (Executable file)"

Are you connected to the internet?
Debuggee not connected is normal (for a short while), while the debugger connects to the symbol server at Microsoft.
Since this is the first time you're doing it, I'd leave it for 15 to 20 minutes to see if it connects.

Also, uploading the .zip file will let me run the memory dumps - and that way you'll have something to compare your output to.

4 different BSOD error codes (STOP 0x19 (2), 0xFC, 0x24, 0xA)

This is (IMO) most likely a hardware problem.

So, let's start with this:
OLDER DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Please update these drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall/remove them from your system.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Windows Update exceptions may be noted below for Windows drivers:

Then try these free stress tests:
FurMark download site: FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
FurMark Setup:
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
- Click "Quit" to exit
Prime95 download site: Free Software - GIMPS
Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight please run the "Small FFTs" test instead. (run all 3 if you find a problem and note how long it takes to error out with each)
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
This won't necessarily crash the system - but check the output in the test window for errors.
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.
More details on the use of this test: Torture test your CPU with Prime95
Two other video stress tests (may be more stressful than FurMark):
Video Memory stress Test - МИРNVIDIA / Утилиты / VMT
Artifact Locator - МИРNVIDIA / Утилиты / Artifact Locator

dsfksvcs.sys, DSFOleaut32.sys : Carrona link to Windows Resource Kit 7.1
so, i installed it.

AtiHdmi : I installed Catalyst software Suite with App removed (32-bit)

INF Update Utility installed as well

I can't find at Internet file amdxata.sys (mine is dated 14/7/2009)

Ozone 3d Funmark, worked fine for 2 1/2 hours (57O C)

Prime95 test, stopped working the first time, and crushed my system the
second time. I attach new minidumps (the last one 21-2-2011 is for the Prome95
crash). I will try it again later on.

Don't worry about amdxata.sys for now - it's probably updated via Windows Update (if available).
This is most likely a hardware problem - but we keep working on the drivers while trying out the different hardware tests.

Try Prime95 with the Small FFT test and then with the Large FFT test. Here's a DRAFT of my suggestions about Prime95:
DRAFT Prime95 testing procedure
This is in case you are getting errors in Prime95 and want to nail down the cause

Run HDD diag and MemTest prior to Prime95

Run Blend test
Run Inplace Large FFT's test
Run Small FFT's test

Swap RAM sticks around per Steps 7 through 10 of this link and run Prime95 (in Blend mode) on each stick/slot: Memory Diagnostics
This is because of issues found in this topic: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/124155-blue-screens-again-2.html#post1076674
************************
DISCUSSION:
Small FFT's test CPU cache and very little memory.
Large FFT's access' a lot of memory - but in-place option keeps it limited
Blend is not run in-place, so it cycles the tests through a lot of RAM

All tests stress the CPU
In-place large FFT's and Blend also test CPU/RAM interface (mobo in all but Athlon64 and Intel i-series)
- This would then be testing the memory controller onboard the CPU in the Athlon64 and i-series processors
In-place large FFT's stress CPU more than Blend
MemTest is better at testing RAM

Prime 95 tests 3 things:
- Memory
- CPU/RAM interface (mobo in all but Athlon64 and Intel i-series)
- CPU

FWIW - the distinction between RAM and different types of memory in the system is one that I've made. The documentation that I've read speaks of RAM issues and CPU cache - and doesn't mention the other aspects. BUT, this is just speculation on my part, so we'll have to see how it works for us.
Link to explanation about i-series CPU/RAM interface: Intel Core - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Common features of all Nehalem based processors include an integrated DDR3 memory controller as well as QuickPath Interconnect or PCI Express and Direct Media Interface on the processor replacing the aging quad-pumped Front Side Bus used in all earlier Core processors.
3 memory dumps over 2 days
3 different BSOD error codes
At least 2 different causes are blamed.
I'm nearly certain that this is a hardware problem. Let's see the results of the Prime95 tests and move on from there.

OLDER DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Please update these drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall/remove them from your system (you don't have to redo the one's that you've already updated).
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Windows Update exceptions may be noted below for Windows drivers:

OK, I' ll try it tomorrow.

Prime95 test results (4 times run), probably will help you...
1. program stopped
2. crash (I attach minidump file)
3. 3/4 workers stopped ( I attach .txt file of Prime 95 window)
4. Windows stopped responding and automatically restart (second minidump file)
