I had that option in my Vista. It was the 'Play' option in the Windows Explorer context menu. With mp3 files and another sound file. It used a internal Windows player to play the musics. Not Windows Media Player or my default mp3 player (Winamp)

Now with Windows 7 this option is gone. How can I add it back?

Thanks.

There is option "show winamp in context menu" in file associations tab; you've must turned it off somehow...
I don't use winamp, but I saw option in context menu on my friends computer...

Thanks Sassa.

But I don't think it's related to Winamp.

The option you're talking about it's on Winamp and checked. It says:

Winamp Preferences > General Preferences > File Types:
"Show Winamp in the folder context menus in Windows Explorer"

The options that appears from Winamp are: Play in Winamp and Enqueue in Winamp.
All the options use the Winamp player.

The context option I'm looking for it's just 'Play', It opens a small player just with one button Play/Stop and with a music length bar. Windows visual. Without any options/menu.

The strange. I never installed another mp3/audio player in my computer. And if that was the case, if it was a program it would be installed (like all the others) after I upgraded to Windows 7.

I had a similar problem. I wanted to use Irfanview to view jpg's and Photoshop to Edit jpg's. This was simple in xp but apparently the feature was removed in Vista. I found a program that let's you edit the context menu and put the options back. Its called Default Programs Editor. Its free and you can download it here:

Yes, but you can't use default programs to assign different actions to the file type. When I double click or right click on a jpg, and select irfanview, it opens with irfanview; when I right click and select edit, it opens in Photoshop.

Thank you guys. I know that I can edit the context menu.

The problem is that I don't know what was the program Windows Vista was using. It's not a player I'm using. I only use Winamp. And Winamp doesn't have this option.

I thought it was a inside Windows Vista program. But now I don't know.

Does anyone knows?
