Hello everybody.
Just a quick question ; in Control Panel i have 2 options
1 View by Large Icons
2 View by Small Icons
Is there a way to set them "middle size" ? :D
A bit smaller than in the link, and a bit bigger than "view by small icons"
Imageshack - controlpanelq.jpg
Here is "view by Large Icons"
Thank you.
LE :
I'd like to have the MAC OS X icons in Control Panel, but without to change anything in the system.
I checked this link :http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/23252-control-panel-change-default-icons.html
There is an option for me, to change the icons one by one, i don't care about that, even if it takes 2-3 hours :D but the problem is, the icons must be in C \ Windows \ System 32 \ imageres.dll
And i haven't got a clue how can i insert icons in this file.
But even if i have them in imageres.dll, how could i know the path, in regedit ?
For example i want to change the sound icon. What's the exactly path / numbers ..when i have to modify with regedit ?!
As default path, for sound icon , is %SystemRoot%\System32\mmsys.cpl,-100
But for the icon i wanna change, which number is, instead -100 ?

Hello Stereo,

The only way around only being able to select large or small icons in the Control Panel is to create shortcuts of all the items in the Control Panel and place then in a new folder. This way you can use the usual sizes in Windows Explorer, and be able to easily just change the shortcut's icon instead of in the Control Panel itself.

In step 10 of OPTION ONE in that tutorial link above, you can type in any path to any 256x256 pixel icon that you wanted to use. It does not have to be from within the imageres.dll file. That's just the default location for most of the default icons, and was just used as an example. That's all. ;)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks, Brink.
I tried the link above. On the desktop i have a folder with 30-40 MAC OS X icons, they are ico files. I followed exactly the link, and as a test, i tried to change the sound icon. It doesen't work. The sound icon from Control Panel is white.
What am i doing wrong ? I toke the ownership, everything, step by step.
Should they be PNG / BMP files, instead ICO files ?!

They need to be 256x256 .ico files. Could you upload the icon you used for Sound?

Try having the full path with the file extension within quotes. Ex: "C:\My icon location\icon file.ico"

Try having the .ico file extension in the path as well within quotes. That sounds like that may be why.

To upload it, you will need to ZIP the .ico file first, then upload the ZIP. :)

The icon is only a 32x32 .ico file. You probably will not see it unless you used the small icon view. :(

It will need to be a 256x256 pixel .ico file.

So, can i modify this icon, from 32x32 to 256x256 ?
Or, i'll have to search - download, another icons pack ?
I have a lot of Apple icons, but they are all 128x128

I downloaded some icons.
They are ICO and PNG, as well. Some of them are 128 x 128.
When i resize them, they have to be ICO or PNG ?
I didn't understand how do i have to do that, like in this link
Vista Icons - Introducing Vista Icons - How to create Vista Icons
Is that okay if i make them from 128 x 128 to 256 x 256 ? Or better from 512 to 256 ?
Thanks again.

Thanks.
Axialis Software is to complicated for me :D
I better search for icons 256 x 256, with Google
But there is a lot of 128 x 128 / 512 x 512 , what i need ( 256 x 256 ) it's hard to find.
