Problem:
I cannot copy/paste any folder/file in local disk C.

What I CAN do:
I can copy paste (using the keyboard or right click option) from an external device (iphone) to local disk C
I can copy paste words/writing.

What I have tried to fix the problem:
the cmd thingy where you type in some code and it tells you if that fixed it or theres something wrong?. (its what most ppl suggested i try)

I think i may have deleted a registry file on accident.... i tried running the windows disk and selecting the "upgrade" option to fix registry issues but it said I cannot upgrade my sys...? how do you fix registry issues with the original cd? is this the only way?

I believe the "cmd thingy" you referenced is "sfc /scannow". Since that didn't work and you think the registry may have been changed or damaged, I suggest trying a system restore prior to the time the registry was changed/modified. Visit the following link for instructions;

:ditto: to the restore but I think George the OP is maybe referring to a registry fix and that is a place I am not going into as unless one knows the listings to put in it is all too easy to gte it wrong.
Personally the very firs thing I do after an install of the OS is to do a full registry back up and save at least two copies - overkill maybe but safe:)
