Ok, I have Windows 7 on my Primary partion (C: ) but I need to copy it to drive (D: )

The problem is, anytime I use a partition software, it says that there's some bad sectors in drive (D: )

I don't get why, I formatted (D: )many times, and it doesn't work. The file system is in NTFS, and allocation is 4024 bytes.

I did recently damage my Hard Drive about 4 months ago, and sometimes the drive will click or lock up... I use to have Drive (D: )full of data, and I remember when it got to only 3 gigs of free space out of the 80 gigs, it would lock the computer up.

Any ideas please post!!

Hello Blizzerd,

What damage was done to the hard drive? You may/should get a new one if it's physically damaged to prevent losing everything on it on day out of the blue.

If it's not physically damaged, then you might see if running chkdsk on the drive may help.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I have run ChkDsk.exe on all my partitions. When I did damage my hard drive, none of my operating systems would work. I used chkdsk, and it did fix my windows 7... but i lost my windows xp (Dual booted on drive E: )

I did do SMART tests, and they say that my HD is healthy. The only time it clicks is when I access parts of drive (D: )

Is there a way to repair bad sectors?

when i did run CHKDSK.exe, it said it finds like 20K in bad sectors.

It sounds like it's a unreliable HDD to me and may fail on you. I would recommend to replace it. :(

Yeah, that really sucks that I dropped it...

Checked on it, and the equivalent size of my drive is only $65, that isn't that bad.
