You'll need to wait for Kaktussoft to continue with those commands. He is the command wizard. :geek:
I use only the automated methods.

Do not give up. In this exact situation I often must try several methods. If commands don't help then delete listing in Easy and add it again. You must use drive letter seen in Win8.

Next try Macrium direct clone, if prompted choose without MBR or Track 0, Auto drive letter. Delete and add again in Easy.

Thanks gregrocker, and this is noted.

That happens instantly after selecting windows7 in boot menu? Or do you see other things first?

This is the boot menu doesn't matter if it is Windows 7 for now.

When I boot Windows 7 it will appear #2 picture below.
#1
View attachment 338041

When entering the highlight "Launch Startup Repair (Recommend)",
which is cannot be seen in this photo, the result is the #3 picture below.
#2
View attachment 338042

#3

Other things when entering "Start Windows Normally" from #2 picture above,
Windows is loaded like this picture but it will end up of some programs not found in the #5 picture.

So pwNative and autocheck... Sounds like partition wizard native... Looks like pw was not completely finished or something strange. But actually the system DOES BOOT to win7. Nothing wrong with boot entry in boot menu.

Do what Greg told you.... clone again but now use macrium reflect

Oh dear Windows 7, It's working by EasyBCD!

I just add the boot entry from EasyBCD then boot that entry and choose to boot the "last good configuration (advanced)" from other choices.

I'm not sure if this is already fixed. I have now three entries in boot menu. Windows 8.1, Windows 7 ( haven't retest it yet) and Microsoft Windows 7 (from EasyBCD entry).

Ok, among three entries are working now. I just miss to add the Windows 7 entry and its drive to where the clone is from EasyBCD app.

And I deleted one boot entry from msconfig.

Thanks :)

That is not a clone, it is a copy. There is a difference. A clone might be better.

Let us know how it performs.

"Microsoft Windows 7" works? Windows 8.1. still works of course.
"Windows 7" works?

Other drive is still detached from system?

@GREG what's the difference between a "partition copy" and a "partition clone" in your opinion?

Just that PW has never before been considered a cloning app.

I assume that a cloning or imaging app is more specialized and exact.

Wouldn't PW copy be more for data partitions and not an OS which requires specialized settings transfer choices, e.g. MBR, Track 0?

MBR is track 0. It has
  • disk signature. It shouldn't be changed on partition clone.
  • master boot code (the win7 bootcode loads sector 0 of active partition and runs that code). master boot code is already in MBR. sector 0 of a partition will be cloned on "partition copy".
  • partition table. Will be changed dynamically, for example when creating a partition.
I don't see any problems (normally). Image and then restore=> pagefile and hibernation file are not saved and most likely more files. Also drive lettering will be fixed and bcd menu will be updated.

"partition copy"=>copy of all stuff in partition. Drive letter problems can be avoided if you do it correctly. bcd menu can be modified manually.

I've done this procedure 3 times without problems.

Yes, both entries are working with other drive detached.

Here's the View attachment bcd.txt

There's one job to finish to get back to Windows 8 boot menu in my system.

What type of boot menu do you have now?

Can we see an updated screenshot of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...t-post-screen-capture-image.html#post2261610?

As long as the Dual Boot drive remains set as the HD first to boot in BIOS setup, then the other HD should not interfere when plugged back in. To boot it, choose it from the BIOS one-time Boot Menu key.

Hello Greg, the boot menu is Windows 7 but the system reserved disk created was Windows 8 the default...

Does it boot into Windows 8?

Are you saying the Dual Boot menu is no longer the modern, Windows 8 style? You want it back?

In that case I think you'll need to run Windows 8 Automatic Repair - Run in Windows 8
to regain that menu. Then if it doesn't maintain the Dual Boot menu, install Easy to 8 to add 7.

But if you want you can wait for Kaktussoft as he may have commands up his sleeve.

Does it boot into Windows 8?

Yes, it booted Windows 8 also.

Are you saying the Dual Boot menu is no longer the modern, Windows 8 style? You want it back?
Yes, its no longer in the modern menu. This was happened after checking the Windows 7 in the EasyBCD app in #20 of my reply.
