Core I7- best available cooler

hi,
before you even think this is the usual, what should i buy? its not.
My i7960 has been lapped to a near mirror finish, and im running a closed loop water cooling system.
i have tried multiple coolers, at this time can only name the cooler master v8 and v10.
i am looking at the Noctua nH-d14 combined with indigo extreme thermal 'pads'.
water cooling is out of the question, overkill and too much money.

what are your opinions?

are you going to overclock it? If not, stock cooler is fine.

In my opinion, if the NH-D14 dosen't cool it, you're going to have to use water. Plus the cooler comes with excellent paste. Just make sure your case will hold it.
