I am getting a corrupt icon beside the open text when I click on a .exe in a window?
Is there anyway to fix this?
I have added a picture of the corrupt icon.
Thanks for any help.

Strange but I tried all three methods and none worked.
The registry shows the entry for the icon.

Strange, did you unblock the .ico file at step 4 before moving it to the location in step 5? If not, then it will not display since it's still blocked. Use step 7 instead of 8 to see if it works better for you as well.

Did you close and reopen all Windows Explorer windows afterwards? If so, then you might restart the computer instead to see if it may work afterwards.

Tried all of those steps above and no joy.
But if i change the registry entry to Imageres.dll,-15, I get a new icon.
Can't understand why I cannot get the original icon.
