Solved Could an image file be used after a clean install ?

Hi all.

I had made an image file of drive c, using the program Reflect.

I have restored it several times, but now for some specific reasons would like to perform a clean install of windows.

Will i also be able to restore the image file in newly installed windows ?

That image will have the old info and if you do a recovery, it will override the clean install you just did.

You can mount the old image and copy and paste photos,etc.

What you can do is mount the old image in the new system (double click on the image file) and pick user files from My Computer. But all the system stuff is unusable in the new install.

Note: It will only mount if you have Macrium Reflect installed in the new system.

Not an answer.. but.. I have to ask why one would after doing a clean install , run an old image ? Perhaps .. just pulling certain files or folders is what you want to do ? Just asking .
