CPU Question

yes i can change but only three are highlighted i.e.

"enable - 1 - 2" that's it.........

OK, its similar to mine but mine says "All - 1 - 2"

Perhaps hightlight "enable" and and see if that enables all cores. After you make a change, look for instructions on the bios screen to save the options. Usually its the F10 key or possibly you'll get to a screen that says, "save changes and reboot?"

Any update? Select ALL. Save settings and reboot. Hopefully you'll be "firing on all cylinders". That should even reduce the temperature of that one core as it won't be working as hard.

Hi, you need to configure it first.

Look at the screenshot where the OSD settings (On Screen Display) are located.
There you can adjust under HARDWARE MONITORING / OSD how the info is been displayed (Show OSD panel must be ticked).
And under HARDWARE MONITORING / OSD ITEMS you tick the boxes of what OSD items are supposed to be show up.

For each OSD item you can modify Label (name), Font, Text color, Text size, etc to your taste.
I have found it very useful, to put items of relevance together (i.e. all CPU related info in one bunch) and give each bunch an own color.

Tip: tick the boxes of the items you wanna show up first, then highlight all items in one go, then go to settings to modify appearance for the whole OSD instead of one by one.
This can be changed anytime by right clicking the OSD panel and selecting settings.

Yep, that would do it! I was leaning toward bios so much I forgot about that in Windows itself! Glad it working for you now!

Yeah, great you found out !

First I thought about the BIOS, then about hardware incompatibility (but then again it's i7, so that couldn't be really), then I thought the CPU might be faulty.

I heard about it before where you can set the number of cores within the OS.
There was a rumor existing that the system might boot up too slow if this setting was wrong. But I have been told that was bull****.
Maybe that's why I forgot about it.

I find it interesting that we users are able to modify how many cores are beeing employed.
Now, since you found out, it makes perfectly sense that any software monitoring program would not "see" all the cores if any of them had been "switched off" this way.

Thanks for letting us know.

PS: well, would you say there's a difference in bootup time at all ?
