CPU stays at 100%

why is my CPU staying at 100%? how can i fix these issue? it cant be a virus causing this because i scan it an everything was good an im not running all kinds of programs either i closed my browser(google chrome)an disconnected from the net an my CPU is still at 100%...please can someone help me? im not to computer savvy.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del & open the task manager. Look in the "processes" tab & check under the CPU column to see what process is maxing your CPU usage. Then do a search online about the process you found - Or post here with your findings.

ok i restarted my pc an now the cpu isnt stuck at 100% anymore,but sometimes when i start up the pc it gets stuck at 100%....i dont know why it does that

Make a snapshot:
WIN | type SNIPPING | ENTER
Click the New button.
Drag the cursor around the area you want to snip.
File | Save as | select save location and name | Save button


Use the Paperclip on that icon row of a msg/reply.
There's a tutorial here on how to do it. Let' see if i can find it.

in left-hand column, under Your Profile, Edit System Spec |


Use Speccy - System Information - Free Download
and/or SIW to gather info for filling in the blanks.

Do me a favor and add the word laptop or desktop to the “system manufacturer” block.

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader, Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.

WIN | type RESMON | ENTER | OVERVIEW tab | CPU column

WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.

This will show you what is so resource hungry.

3. Navigage to the folder containing the snapshot.
