Solved CPU temperature inaccurate?

When I use programs such as Speccy or Core Temp, it will tell me that my pc is cooler than the room temperature. Is there any way to fix this? I am running the latest Bios from HP. My pc has done this ever since it was new.

Is there a free version? The thing is is that it isn't only one program that is doing this, but it is multiple programs doing this.

Yes...your CPU and GPU temps will be lower than your rooms ambient temperature. That's because of the fans...that's what they are designed to do. If your temps are higher than your room temp...then there is a definite cooling problem with your system.

My room temp is between 70 and 72 degrees and my CPU and GPU temps are cool and steady at 35 and 40 degrees respectively.

Fans circulate air. They don't have coolent in them or cold liquids or anything that could make it cooler than room temp.

You might want to get your understanding of Celsius and Fahrenheit sorted out.

That's part of why I was asking for a screenshot; wanting to make sure it wasn't simply a problem of °C vs. °F.

Fans/fins and such merely dissipate heat, they cannot get you to below ambient temp. To get below ambient you would have to have some sort of active cooling (ie, evaporative).

I think I figured out why I am getting cooler temperatures. There is an ac vent in my roon that is angled at my computer area. Therefore, it is able to bring cooler than room temperature air to that area.

Celcius appears lower but in Fahrenheit it is alot higher 30c is the equivilent of 80f

yes if you have a AC it does effect room temp and ambient pc temps but most of the time

If you are reading from a Celcius point Lower is defenitly better then higher

A pc running 70-135 F is a winner and wouldn't want to change it and i doubt you could get too much lower then those temps unless your in Antartica

you have Cool and quiet enabled

I can already tell if you took that setting off the c&c the cpu would be much hotter not to mention the fact that your CPU downclocks as well

All those will have a big impact on cpu temps ,Take the c&c off and you will see a change immediatly

Only have one CPU temp program open at a time, this is known to cause false reading....sometimes.
Did you adjust any settings in Core Temp?
Changing any settings can cause false readings. I have read many threads/forums (OC'ing forums) saying that making any adjustments are not recommended.

Try a couple different monitoring programs (one at a time) to see if the readings are close.
A couple to try:
HWiNFO64
SIW
Speccy
